Ms. Abundis has 33 years of experience overseeing programs dedicated to human services, particularly for under-privileged youth and their families. She utilizes her public health background to maintain a focus on prevention services, ensuring families have the supports they need in a timely, equitable and responsive way. Over the last eight years, Ms. Abundis has managed various initiatives in the Department of Family and Children Services including the launch of a comprehensive child abuse prevention bureau and the development of a county wide Comprehensive Prevention Plan for the Families First Prevention Services initiative.
